Liturgical

  • Ushers - Welcome and assist parishioners to their pews.
  • Lectors - Proclaim the Good News during the liturgy.
  • Eucharistic Ministers - Assist Priest with the preparation and distribution of the Eucharist.
  • Altar Servers - Assist the priest during the liturgies.
  • Choirs - Provide musical accompaniment for all liturgical services of our parish.

Religious Education and Sacramental Preparation

  • Adult Confirmation - For Adult Catholics who have not received Confirmation
  • Baptismal Preparation - Parents and Godparents take part in a one day course to learn what it means to baptize, the importance of Godparents, Christian parenting, and Discipleship. This is mandatory for all wishing to baptize their children.
  • Cathechesis, Grades K-12 - Catholic teachings and community building.
  • Liturgy of the Word -
  • First Communion - Prepares for the sacrament of Eucharist.
  • Confirmation - Prepares High School students for the sacrament of Confirmation; full Christian adulthood, and ministerial participation.
  • Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) - This is a process for all adults wanting to become full members of the church. Those who have not received the sacraments of Baptism or Confirmation and would like to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ should consider joining R.C.I.A.

Special Ministries

Please take a look at all the special ministries, groups and councils available at The Shrine of St. Therese.

  • Prayer Line is open for requests. Call Lorene Heidemann at 237-5627
  • Lay Carmelites - Service organization that focuses on visiting the sick and prayer.
  • Homebound Ministry – Visit and take communion to the elderly parishioners who are not able to attend Mass.
  • Confraternity of Mary Queen of All Hearts Blessed Sacrament Chapel
    2:30 - 3:30p.m. 1st Saturday of each month - Service organization dedicated to Mary and her message.

The following ministries are in development and in need of ministers:

Las Guadalupanas - A service organization which would focus on Our Lady of Guadalupe and events surrounding her day and message.
